Course Description 2016

This workshop is intended for graduate students in philosophy who aspire to a professional career in academic philosophy. In this workshop, participants will reflect on how to plan and to write a PhD thesis, how to submit an abstract for a conference, how to give a talk, how to write a grant proposal, how to write a philosophy paper, how to have and maintain a professional internet presence, how to put together a CV, a research statement, and a job dossier, how to get an academic job, as well as on teaching and professional service.

Important: All participants must register on the CUSO website at http://www.cuso.ch/activity/?p=863&uid=3207. The CUSO will cover the lunches for PhD students at the four CUSO universities (Geneva, Lausanne, Neuchâtel, and Fribourg), as well as reimburse them for their train tickets.

Course Materials

Course materials such as lecture notes, handouts, etc will be made available as they will be used in the workshop.
